Convert between major world currencies including US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Pakistani Rupee, Indian Rupee, and more. Understand how exchange rates work and what affects currency values.
Currency exchange rates change constantly based on global financial markets, inflation, interest rates, political stability, and trade balances. The rates shown in this calculator use indicative reference rates โ always check with your bank or exchange service for the actual rate you will receive, which includes a spread or commission.
Exchange rates are determined by supply and demand in the global forex (foreign exchange) market, which trades over $6 trillion per day. Central banks influence rates through interest rate policy. Higher interest rates attract foreign investment, strengthening the currency. Inflation erodes purchasing power and weakens a currency over time.
When you exchange money at a bank or airport, you get a rate worse than the official "mid-market" rate. The difference (spread) is the bank profit. Airport kiosks typically have the worst rates. Online services (Wise, Revolut) offer rates closest to the mid-market rate.
